On October 29, ASEZ STAR, the Church of God Student Volunteer Group, organized a cleanup at Carpayo Beach in Callao, Lima, Peru. This beach, which had been significantly affected by an oil spill in January of the previous year, was the focus of the cleanup effort.

The event attracted over 1,500 participants, including ASEZ STAR members and their friends. Among the attendees were Albina Ruiz Ríos, Peru’s Minister of Environment, and Giancarlo Guido Casassa Sanchez, Chairman of Callao Regional Council, who offered their support and encouragement. The Callao Regional Council provided trash bags and waste transport vehicles for the cleanup.
In her opening speech, Minister Ruiz praised the students for setting a commendable example through their environmental service, which greatly motivated the volunteers.

Beginning at 8:50 a.m., the volunteers worked diligently to clean a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) stretch of beach. Carpayo Beach, known for its pebbly surface, had a mix of large and small trash. In just an hour and a half, the team successfully collected approximately 2 metric tons of waste.
The cleanup activity was covered by Peruvian media outlet Caretas, and Callao City Councilor José Sosa awarded ASEZ STAR with a certificate of appreciation for their dedication to environmental and social responsibility.
