On Sunday morning, the area in front of Milton High School in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, was filled with the cheerful energy of students. On October 27, about 30 participants—including members of ASEZ STAR (the Church of God student volunteer group) and students from Milton High School—came together to take action for environmental protection.

Beginning at the front of the School, the volunteers collected litter Townsend Street, which runs alongside the campus. In areas where waste had accumulated, they worked closely together and continued cleaning until the surroundings were fully restored. Through repeated stops and careful collection, the group removed approximately 300 kilograms (about 660 lbs) of trash across a 1-kilometer stretch.

Camryn Greenland, a member of ASEZ STAR, shared, “It is difficult to fully understand the importance of a clean environment through theory alone. But when we put in into practice, the impact becomes much clearer.” She added that she is committed to protecting the environment by starting with her own community.
