On November 19, ASEZ STAR, the Church of God Student Volunteer Group in the Bronx, NY, U.S., held an “Appreciation Event for Our Teachers and Loved Ones.” The event took place at the Bronx Church with the goal of sharing the importance of gratitude with students, and was attended by about 90 people, including ASEZ STAR members, their friends, and teachers from a local school.
The members gave a presentation titled “Amount of Gratitude,” in which they explained the benefits of gratitude, the connection between a positive mindset and gratitude, and the stages of gratitude. Following the presentation, the student had a time to write letters of gratitude to their parents.
George Alvarez, a Member of the New York State Assembly, attended the event and praised the ASEZ STAR members, saying, “Many people talk about how beautiful your activities are. You are truly excellent.” Tatiana Graham, a teacher, gave thanks to the student for inviting her to the event, saying, “In this stressful society, I really enjoyed this appreciation event.”
