On November 12, about 60 members of ASEZ STAR from the Bronx Branch in New York carried out a Green World Project cleanup along Webster Avenue in the Bronx. Gathering at the site around 10:30 a.m., volunteers began clearing fallen leaves from vines and street trees using brooms and shovels. While some swept the leaves, others collected them with shovels and placed them into bags. They also diligently picked up plastic waste scattered along the roadside. New York State Assemblymember George Alvarez, who joined the activity, praised the effort, calling it “ASEZ STAR’s work to become an agent of change for environmental protection.”
Earlier, in July, members of the Bronx Branch conducted a cleanup at Cedar Playground at the request of New York State Assemblymember Latoya Joyner. In recognition of their efforts to restore a space frequently used by local residents, the volunteers received a certificate of appreciation from Assemblymember Joyner.
