On December 1, 85 volunteers—including members of ASEZ STAR, the Church of God student volunteer group, from the Auckland region—carried out a beach cleanup at Takapuna Beach. This event marked ASEZ STAR’s first volunteer activity in New Zealand, representing a meaningful first step in the group’s efforts to promote environmental protection in the region.

After carefully listening to safety and activity guidelines, participants spread out across the beach at 10:30 a.m. to collect litter. Despite strong coastal winds, the volunteers worked together to remove large discarded items such as decayed wooden debris and abandoned shopping carts. Cleaning a 3-kilometer stretch of shoreline, they collected approximately 150 kilograms (about 330 lbs) of waste. After two hours of dedicated effort, the volunteers smiled with satisfaction as they looked over the newly cleaned beach.
